Under the combined pressure of a particularly strained boating market and new regulations prohibiting the transfer of mooring places on Lake Geneva, the organisers of the Swiss Boat Show, together with the Palexpo management team, have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2025 edition of this major water sports event.
“After months of actively marketing the 2025 edition, we are forced to acknowledge that our most loyal exhibitors – and the majority of the key professional sectors traditionally represented at the Swiss Boat Show – are unable to commit this year,” explains Christian Wipfli, founder and director of the exhibition. “Proceeding under these circumstances would only lead to disappointment, both for the exhibitors who have confirmed their participation and for the public, who would not find the diversity of offerings they are accustomed to.”
“While we sincerely hope to see this trend reversed in the future, the outlook for the boating sector remains currently uncertain,” adds Christian Wipfli. “That said, we never admit defeat. If this format proves no longer viable, we will rethink our model and pursue new opportunities — a process already underway.”
